Job Description

Lead Product Engineer

This is a rare opportunity to step into a true early stage product engineering leadership role and help shape a global financial infrastructure platform from the inside.

Consortia is partnering with an ambitious fintech building blockchain enabled payments and settlement infrastructure. The platform combines cross border payments, treasury management and capital products into a unified system built for physical trade flows.

They are live, generating revenue and shipping quickly. This hire exists because product, engineering and commercial decisions are now inseparable. They need someone who can own the platform, not just contribute to it.

As (Product) Engineering Lead, you will sit alongside the Founder and take responsibility for what gets built, why it matters and how it reaches market. This is not a roadmap delivery role. It is about shaping the direction of the product while remaining close to the code and close to customers.

You will work across blockchain based settlement rails, payments infrastructure and cross border transaction flows, ensuring that what is built is commercially sound, technically robust and operationally reliable. You will review architecture, contribute hands on where required and translate regulatory, customer and market requirements into clear product direction.

This role requires someone who understands the weight of building financial infrastructure. Moving money across borders demands precision, resilience and careful trade offs between speed, risk and scalability. You will be comfortable making those decisions.

You will push features into market quickly, iterate based on live feedback and continuously refine the platform. You will also use AI and automation pragmatically to improve workflows and increase execution speed as real operational leverage.

You will bring a strong engineering background combined with clear product instincts and commercial awareness. Experience within blockchain environments, payments infrastructure or cross border settlement systems is important. Exposure to stablecoins, treasury systems or financial rails will stand out.

The technology environment is modern and pragmatic, built to support reliable financial infrastructure at scale. The current stack includes:

  • React
  • AWS
  • Vercel
  • Heroku
  • Cloudflare
  • Blockchain integrations and stablecoin rails
  • Supporting developer tooling including monitoring and analytics platforms

You do not need experience across every technology listed. Strong fundamentals in modern web infrastructure and experience working within payments, blockchain or financial systems are far more important than matching the stack line by line. Engineering judgement, product thinking and the ability to operate within complex financial environments matter most.
