Engineering Lead

Remote-first (UK) with hybrid London office option

Up to £150,000 per annum plus equity

Typescript/Node, React, GCP/AWS

We're hiring Engineering Leads to guide small, focused squads (up to 4 Engineers) while remaining hands-on in the codebase. This isn't a "people manager only" role - around 70% of your time will be technical, leading the design and build of AI-native solutions with real-time infrastructure and a seamless frontend experience. The remainder will be spent coaching, mentoring, and supporting your team's growth.

For the first three months, you'll contribute as an individual contributor, embedding yourself in the product and tech stack before taking on leadership responsibilities.

• Lead a small team of Engineers while staying deeply technical
• Contribute across the stack (React, Node.js/Typescript, GCP) with backend experience highly valued
• Shape and deliver high quality features that scale with thousands of customers
• Advocate for engineering best practices and help raise the technical bar
• Collaborate with product and design to deliver exceptional user experiences

• Proven experience leading small teams while still contributing technically
• Strong backend development expertise (Node.js, Typescript; Go a plus)
• Familiarity with cloud native architectures (GCP or AWS)
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• A balance of technical depth and people first leadership
