£90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting for a Sports-Based Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and inclusive primary/secondary school in Hackney / Islington. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for working with young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role:- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Working with children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs
- Using sport and physical activity as a tool to engage and motivate students
- Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management and lesson support
- Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, and emotional regulation
- Supporting both inside the classroom and during outdoor/PE sessions
The Ideal Candidate:- Background in sports, coaching, personal training, or fitness
- Experience working with children or young people (school, coaching, mentoring, etc.)
- Strong behaviour management and ability to build rapport
- Energetic, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
- Passionate about supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs
- A team player with a proactive attitude
Requirements:- Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Good level of spoken English
