Job Description

A highly innovative global engineering organisation is seeking an interim Buyer.

This is a 3 6-month contract opportunity focused on operational procurement and materials management, ensuring continuity of supply and supporting production requirements within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.

The role will work closely with engineering, production and planning teams to ensure materials, components and supplier deliveries are aligned with manufacturing schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational procurement activity across electronic components and manufacturing materials
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers and Contract Electronic Manufacturers (CEMs) to ensure on-time delivery
  • Support materials planning and inventory management to maintain production continuity
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, expediting where required to prevent supply disruption.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, engineering and planning teams to support operational requirements
  • Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems

Candidate Profile

  • Experience within operational procurement, supply chain or materials management
  • Background within electronics, engineering or manufacturing environments highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems and supply chain processes
  • Confident liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery and supply issues
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
