Solicitor/Head of Private Client (permanent)

A well-established high street law firm in Devon is seeking an experienced Head of Private Client to lead and develop its growing department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious private client lawyer looking to step into a leadership role with a clear and supported pathway to partnership (both salaried and equity).

Position Overview

You will head up a friendly and supportive private client team consisting of several other fee earners and support staff, overseeing day-to-day operations while continuing to manage your own varied caseload.

The work will include:

• Wills and estate planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
• Taxable estates
• Agricultural and rural estates

This is a full-time, primarily office-based position, with travel required between a few local offices. Flexibility is offered with up to one day of remote working per week.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
• Minimum 5+ years' PQE in private client work
• Strong technical ability across a broad range of matters
• Confident in managing and developing client relationships
• Proven leadership potential or experience
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• A collaborative, team-focused approach
• Ambitious and possibly motivated to progress to partnership
