Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (TA)Location: North ManchesterContract Type: Full-Time (After Easter Holidays - End of Academic Year, with potential extension into September 2026)Agency: Aspire PeopleAbout the Role:Aspire People are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in North Manchester, seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team after the Easter holidays. This is a full-time position running until the end of the academic year, with the strong possibility of extension into the next academic year (September 2026).Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Support students with sensory processing needs, including delivering sensory circuits Assist students with Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions and activities Help develop students' functional skills for both academic learning and daily school life Support with handwriting, fine motor skills, and cognition and learning strategies Promote independence, including assisting with personal care where required Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionalsIdeal Candidate: Holds a UK Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a SEND-related field Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting Demonstrates knowledge or experience in cognition and learning needs Has experience supporting students with sensory processing, OT interventions, or similar needs Is patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting young people's development Is confident working both independently and as part of a teamRequirements: Previous experience working with children (essential) References covering the last 2 years Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new DBSWhy Join Aspire People?
