Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct statutory assessments for households approaching the Council in housing need
  • Develop and issue Personalised Housing Plans following detailed interviews
  • Provide proactive housing advice on tenure, eviction, repairs, rent arrears, and housing options
  • Work collaboratively with customers to prevent homelessness and explore alternatives such as private renting, shared ownership, and supported housing

  • Liaise with internal teams, landlords, solicitors, MPs, and voluntary sector partners
  • Contribute to service development and ensure compliance with legislation and Council policies

  • Good IT skills and experience of maintaining accurate records
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach and a commitment to customer care
  • Awareness of housing issues and a desire to develop specialist knowledge
Requirements
  • No formal qualifications required, but Level 4 or equivalent experience is desirable
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours emergency response
  • Understanding of equality, diversity, and safeguarding in service delivery
Why Join?
