Since the Pandemic, audiology services no longer operate drop in clinics, meaning vulnerable members of our community may have to wait weeks for support. Our volunteers visit people in their homes and provide support within a few days, offering hearing aid maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment recommendations. They work closely with the service manager to identify further needs.
As an essential role, you will be expected to make at least one visit every six weeks, lasting approximately one hour. A comprehensive training course will equip you with a technical mind and a willingness to help others. All appropriate expenses will be paid and you will receive full time support from the service manager.
What you will doJDA's vision is a world with no barriers to communication and understanding between deaf and hearing people. We are committed to improving access, independence, equality and inclusion for people with hearing loss, providing a culturally appropriate environment and activity programme for our Jewish clients. Our services are open to everyone, including deaf, hard of hearing, and tinnitus affected individuals across Barnet and the surrounding boroughs.
