Class 1 Driver

Here at GXO Peterborough, we are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team supporting one of our new business wins with M&S!

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an 'any 5 days form 7' pattern. We are recruiting for multiple start time options across day and night shifts, with start times discussed during the recruitment process and agreed based on candidate preference and availability, with start times ranging between 03:00 and 13:00.

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll get:

• An hourly rate of £17.43
• A 15% shift premium, for hours worked between 22:00 and 03:59

What you will do on a typical day:

• Carry out a mix of single and multidrop deliveries (typically up to 2 drops per shift) across England and Wales, collecting returns and equipment from stores as required, with no nights out
• Handle totes, rails and occasional pallets, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner ? while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
