A financial services business is seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to join their company based in Central London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with UK GAAP, and providing strategic financial insights. This hands-on role requires a qualified accountant capable of working independently, overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing management accounts and managing the relationship with external accountants and auditors. Key responsibilities include maintaining cash flow reporting, managing VAT and statutory filings, supporting commercial decision-making through financial analysis, and ensuring smooth broker commission calculations and settlements. - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in finance or accounting roles
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and statutory reporting standards
- Proven ability to work independently and manage all aspects of a finance function
- Experience liaising with external auditors and advisors
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Prior experience within financial services, ideally brokerage, with a clear understanding of deal flows
