Gear Cutter
Location: Aldershot, GU12
Salary: 17- 19 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 06:30-15:15, Friday 06:00-13:00
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and precise Gear Cutter to join a busy precision manufacturing environment in Aldershot. You will be responsible for producing high-quality gears using CNC and gear-cutting machinery. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on machining and takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
Purpose of the Role
As a Gear Cutter, you will set up and operate machines to manufacture precision gears. You will work from engineering drawings, ensuring every component meets strict tolerances and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate gear cutting machinery, including Mazak CNC machines
- Manufacture gears to precise specifications from engineering drawings
- Conduct inspections using micrometers, verniers, and other measuring tools
- Troubleshoot machine or process issues to maintain production flow
- Maintain clean and safe working areas in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support colleagues to ensure smooth production processes
Profile
- 3-5 years of experience in gear cutting or CNC machining
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented
