About the Role
The Chief Mechanical Engineer is a hands-on dynamic role that will ensure our historic venue runs smoothly. You'll be a supportive team player with strong technical skills, overseeing maintenance, repairs and inspections while helping ensure we're event-ready around the clock.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure mechanical systems across site are compliant
- Supervise and monitor subcontractors and third-party suppliers, delivering safety briefings and site inductions
- Deliver a structured repair and maintenance program by appropriately scheduling inspections and testing
- Act as the responsible person for water hygiene for the property
- Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders provide support to the engineers assisting with the installation and maintenance of mechanical services
- Proactively report any maintenance and Health and Safety issues through logging system, Halo.
- Support maintenance issues on nominated live events
- Participate in out of hours on call and emergency call out roster
Essential
- Level 3 NVQ or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services or proof of pathway of recognised apprenticeship
- water hygiene / Legionella awareness training certificate
- L8 Legionella awareness
- Extensive mechanical engineering experience or in similar field
- Familiarity with CAFM systems
- Experience working in a Grade II listed building and able to apply a conservation-led and heritage-sensitive approach
- Strong communication skills with the ability to talk to people at different levels and brief subcontractors
