Field Service Engineer - Heavy Plant Maintenance £30,000-£40,000 + Overtime (1.5x) + Van
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established heavy engineering business. This is a varied, hands-on role covering both onsite and workshop-based work, offering strong earning potential, flexibility and long-term progression.
The RoleYou will be responsible for:
Carrying out repairs, servicing and maintenance on heavy plant and equipment
Attending customer sites across multiple industries
Diagnosing and fault-finding across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems
Testing equipment to ensure it meets inspection and safety standards
Completing detailed job sheets and service reports
Preparing and assembling components ready for dispatch
Delivering a professional, customer-facing service
This role involves regular travel and face-to-face interaction with clients, so a professional and proactive approach is essential.
Skills & ExperienceDesirable:
Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Plant, Heavy Engineering
Experience working on heavy plant machinery
Crane or lifting equipment experience
LOLER knowledge/experience
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Industry-recognised certifications available
Ongoing product and technical training
Supportive management team
£30,000-£40,000 basic salary
Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours
Flexible working hours dictated by workload
Option to complete 40 hours Monday-Thursday and take Friday off (subject to workload)
