Bennett & Game Recruitment are currently working with a well-established Civil Engineering and Earthworks Contractor who are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their head office team based in Ellesmere Port.

This is an office-based role working standard office hours (08:00 - 17:00 Monday-Friday). The successful candidate will play a key role within the commercial team, reviewing tender documentation, preparing accurate cost plans, and coordinating supplier and subcontractor pricing to support competitive and compliant tender submissions.

The role would suit an Estimator with experience in civil engineering, groundworks or earthworks projects, who is looking to join a growing contractor and contribute to the delivery of infrastructure and heavy civils schemes.
Estimator Position Overview

• Review and assess tender documentation, drawings and project specifications
• Carry out site visits to gain a clear understanding of project requirements and constraint
• Prepare detailed cost plans covering labour, materials, plant and subcontractor packages
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate competitive quotations
• Monitor market conditions, industry trends and material price movements
• Lead the preparation and submission of compliant tender documents within required deadlines
• Work closely with procurement teams to confirm supplier pricing and material sourcing strategies
• Support the pre-construction team by confirming scope, logistics and pricing considerations

Estimator Position Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience within an Estimating role
• Experience estimating groundworks and/or earthworks projects
• Background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Good communication and negotiation skills when liaising with suppliers and subcontractor
