Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver to join our team at Xpression Logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across Oxfordshire, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV driver put some roots down and be an important part of a small and growing business. The position requires a dedicated driver committed to adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
Operate 18t curtain sided lorries with tail lifts.
Follow routes effectively to optimise and meet delivery schedules.
Conduct walk round checks of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
Secure palletised good properly to prevent damage during transit.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery times or any issues encountered on the route.
Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies during transportation duties.
Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
Skills
Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with multidrop driver experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
Common sense.
Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
Valid driving licence suitable for operating large goods vehicles.
A valid fork lift license would be helpful.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
