Job Description
Teachwise is currently looking for a skilled and experienced head of year for a local secondary academy based in Salford. The role will begin after Easter and will continue on a full-time, long-term basis.
The role will involve working with pupils across KS3 & KS4 providing all aspects of pastoral support. Some pupils may be dis-engaged and exhibit challenging behaviour whilst others require specialist support for issues outside of school. You will need to have excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to engage with pupils from a wide array of backgrounds.
You will work closely with SLT, other head's of year, support staff and external agencies. The position would suit someone who has previously worked as a head of year, assistant head of year or senior mentor within a secondary school setting.

- Experience working with pupils across KS3/4
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage and build rapport quickly
- Committed to pupil progress and positive outcomes
- Ability to identify and resolve a multitude of issues
- Strong team player
- A driven individual who can lead from the front
- Available from after Easter
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold and enhanced DBS certificate on the update service
