Accounts Senior Location: Newport Salary: DOE Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm with flexibility as required)We are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join our Client Advisory team in Newport. This is a client-facing position where you will take ownership of accounts assignments from planning through to completion, acting as the main point of contact for your clients while supporting junior team members.
Main Duties - Preparation and completion of limited company statutory accounts
- Preparation of management accounts
- Reconciling control accounts
- Acting as first point of contact for clients during accounts assignments
- Managing assignments to completion, ensuring deadlines are met
- Clearing review points and addressing follow-up queries until sign-off
- Keeping managers informed of progress and any client issues
- Identifying and raising potential time overruns promptly
- Responding to ad hoc client queries professionally and efficiently
- Supporting and overseeing junior colleagues
- Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through CPD and webinars
Using Xero and other accountancy software packages effectively
Skills required - Strong experience preparing limited company accounts
- Experience supervising or reviewing junior staff work
- Proficient in Xero and other accounting software
- Ideally experienced with Pro Audit (Auto Automation) and CCH Accounts Production
- Confident communicator, able to explain technical matters clearly
- Professional, objective and client-focused
- Comfortable discussing complex matters directly with clients
- Approachable and supportive team member
- High standards of professionalism and presentation
