Mechanical Labourer (Manufacturing / Switchgear Assembly)

First Achieve Engineering are recruiting Mechanical Labourers on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer specialising in bespoke electrical power distribution and control systems. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, our client is expanding their manufacturing team at their Clydebank facility.

This role offers a great opportunity for someone with mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience to develop their career within a specialist engineering environment. The business operates a 4-day working week, meaning you'll enjoy a long weekend every week.

The position is fully site-based within the manufacturing facility.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Interpreting engineering and manufacturing drawings

• Assisting with the assembly of electrical control panels

• Fitting copper components

• Installing door furniture and mechanical components (e.g. handles, fittings)

• Supporting the final assembly of panel work prior to dispatch

• Working in confined or restricted spaces when required

• Occasional UK-based site work

• Proven experience in a mechanical labouring, assembly, or manufacturing role

• Experience working with switchgear or switchboards would be advantageous

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Comfortable working in tight or awkward spaces

• Full UK driving licence would be beneficial

• Up to 33,000 salary

• 4-day working week (38 hours, Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm)
