This role has a starting salary of£41,585 per annum, based on a36 hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring anAttendance, Advice, and Intervention Officer (AAIO) to join our fantastic Surrey Attendance Service. This role is based in the West team whose office base is inVictoria Gate, Woking.

The Surrey Attendance Service is responsible for carrying out the Local authority's statutory responsibilities as outlined in the DfE "Working Together to Improve Schools Attendance Guidance" alongside other legislation.
The service works with colleagues within the Education Lifelong Learning Directorate. Specifically, alongside colleagues in our Gypsy, Romany, Traveller support team, the courts team, SEND, Social Care, Children Not in School Services and schools, to promote the importance of school attendance and to support with strategies to improve the schools attendance of children and young people in Surrey.
About the Role:
As an AAIO, you will play a vital role in ensuring the Local Authority meets its statutory responsibilities around attendance,
You will work closely with headteachers and senior school leaders to identify and support implementation of strategies that unblock barriers to attendance. You will provide guidance and support to schools around attendance and facilitate the sharing of best practise between schools of in Surrey.
You will have regular meetings with key contact in schools to identify pupils and cohorts of pupils at risk of poor attendance then agree targeted actions for those pupils or cohorts. You will support the development and the organisation of the attendance improvement networks.
