Private Members Golf Club with over 700 members and daily visitors
You will be cooking meals in our industrial specification kitchen from a set breakfast and lunch menu for our members and guests
You will also be cooking for larger scale events with over 100 diners where you will often have the freedom to design your own menu working to a set budget for the event.
Working hours and patterns of work: You will be salaried for 40 hours per week but will work a minimum of 30-35 hours per week in the winter months. In the summer months from April to October you will work a minimum of 40-45 hours per week.

We are currently looking to recruit a Full-Time sous Chef/Cook for one of Dorset's top six best Golf Clubs. This fantastic forward thinking private members golf club is situated on the outskirts of the historic town of Sherborne Dorset.
We are seeking a passionate, ambitious, customer focused candidates with an attention to detail, the ability to be flexible and work in an experienced and great team environment. You should be used to catering for at least 100 covers a day and larger private dining events.
You will be salaried for 40 hours per week but your working weeks will be approx 40-45 hours per week in the summer months ( April to October ) when our opening hours are extended and you will work shorter weeks, approx 30-35 hours per week, in the winter months ( Nov to March ) when we reduce our opening hours . You will be assist the Full-time chef to create your own standard menu for breakfast and lunch service to be served to members and visitors on a daily basis. You will also get the opportunity to cater for bespoke one off events at the club to showcase your creativity further.
With a very varied week to week diary at the club the key to this role is flexibility as each week will vary dependent on the bookings we have for events and club matches. In the summer months you may need to work later to 9 p.m. to cater for events but in the winter months your days will generally be far shorter working on average from 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. most days. It is very rare that we host events that run later than 9 p.m. over summer months so this role offers far more sociable hours than many other hospitality based roles. There will be regular overtime available to you across many weeks of the year.

Job Title
Full Time Sous Chef/Cook
Main Purpose of Job
To provide quality food and service as required by Sherborne Golf Club. This will consist of table meals in the dining room and snacks for the bar areas from a set menu.
Job Location
The clubhouse of Sherborne Golf Club and any other area designated by the club. (This might include areas such as tents or other items for special events).
Responsibilities
To provide a quality catering service to our club members and visiting guests. You will produce meals from our set breakfast and lunch menus served in the dining room and the bar areas within the guidelines set by the club. Must be confident lone working and as part of a team. On days where we host larger events you will be required to work additional overtime on those days working alongside our full-time chef to allow us to cater for larger numbers of guest. Our key busy trading days where you will be required to work any overtime will be communicated to you well in advance.
Duties
In addition to preparing the food for meals you will be responsible for stock control, help with ordering of the food and kitchen supplies. You will be responsible to see that the kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are kept clean and tidy, reporting any issues to your line manager the Full-time chef.
Liaison
You must at all times liaise with the Head chef, the bar supervisor, other clubhouse staff and with any club member designated by the committee to liaise with you. (This may be for social or other club events).
Conditions
You are responsible for seeing that you observe all hygiene and health & safety regulations with a particular emphasis on those concerned with the handling of food.
