Yard Support Operative

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Support Operative to join our Operations team in Thurleigh.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role, ideal for someone with a construction, site, or yard background who enjoys practical work and is comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.

You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the yard, ensuring equipment is prepared, maintained and ready for dispatch.

A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and Full UK Driving Licence are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Yard & Operational Duties

• Attend daily 7:30am Toolbox Talks

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised outdoor yard environment

• Carry out regular equipment inspections, servicing and maintenance

• Prepare equipment for upcoming jobs as requested by the operations team

• Pick equipment according to load lists

• Load and unload equipment using a counterbalance forklift and telehandler

• Secure loads using ratchet straps and ensure trailers meet VOSA requirements

• Assist with stock control and stock level checks

• Ensure equipment is serviced and ready for dispatch

• Assist with annual stock checks and asset tagging

• Perform manual lifting and handling of stock, scaffolding and equipment

• Support general yard and operational tasks as required
