An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Strategic and Placements Team, following new investment to strengthen sufficiency and strategic delivery. This operational leadership role will lead and develop the Placement Finder team, providing clear direction and support to ensure the team works in a coordinated, proactive, and strategic way. The postholder will play a key role in shaping placement sufficiency, building effective partnerships, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
You will oversee the sourcing, commissioning, and ongoing management of placements for children and young people, ensuring activity is efficient, well planned, and aligned with service priorities.
Working closely with the Placement Finder team, you will support a clear understanding of local placement availability, anticipate upcoming moves, identify emerging placement needs, and address stability issues. You will also lead on robust due diligence, support contract negotiation and cost management, and ensure all placements meet required quality, safeguarding and value-for-money.
Through strong, collaborative relationships with providers and internal partners, you will secure timely, appropriate, and sustainable placements that achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
