About the Opportunity

A well-established regional law firm is seeking to appoint a Contentious Construction Solicitor to join its growing Birmingham office.

The firm has a strong reputation in the construction sector and advises a broad client base including developers, contractors, consultants and insurers. The Birmingham team handles a wide range of complex construction disputes and works closely with colleagues across the firm's wider real estate and commercial practices.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value and technically challenging disputes within a supportive and collaborative team.

The Role

You will handle a varied caseload of contentious construction matters, including:

• Adjudications, mediations and other forms of dispute resolution• Construction and engineering disputes in the High Court and Technology and Construction Court• Claims relating to defective works, delay and disruption, and professional negligence• Advising on disputes arising from JCT and NEC contracts• Supporting clients with dispute avoidance strategies and early-stage risk advice

You will also work closely with partners on complex matters and have opportunities to contribute to client development initiatives.

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 5+ years' PQE and experience in contentious construction matters.

The firm is seeking:

• Strong experience handling construction disputes• Familiarity with adjudication and alternative dispute resolution processes• Knowledge of standard form construction contracts such as JCT and NEC• Excellent analytical and drafting skills• A proactive and commercially focused approach
