Experienced Gardener / Grounds Operative

Red Beard Services is seeking a motivated, reliable and professional individual with a strong interest in horticulture and outdoor work to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, presents themselves professionally, and can consistently deliver high standards of service to our clients.

Gardener Key Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Lawn mowing and edging
• Weeding and border maintenance
• Hedge cutting and shaping
• Shrub and plant pruning
• Seasonal leaf clearance
• General garden maintenance

The Gardener role will also involve supporting arboricultural operations, including:

• Assisting with tree work as a grounds operative
• Operating machinery such as wood chippers
• Occasional use of stump grinders

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Have proven experience in horticulture and/or arboriculture
• Be confident using a range of tools and machinery, including lawn mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers and hand tools
• Demonstrate strong practical skills and an excellent work ethic
• Possess good communication and customer service skills, as daily client interaction is required
• Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Hold a full, valid driving licence (essential)
• Have reliable transport to our yard

Additional training can be provided for the right candidate; however, prior hands-on experience is essential.

Salary & Benefits

• £25,000 £30,000 per annum based on full-time employment and dependent on experience.
