Job Description

Panel Wirer Required to work for manufacturing company based in Woking, immediate start avialable for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities of the role:

  • Manufacture of control boxes and panels, wire assemblies in accordance with demand levels to suit Production and Spares requirements.
  • Experience in the assembly and correct termination of cable looms and harnesses.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material and other written or pictorial instructions/ procedures to accurately assemble products.
  • Purchase Requisitions to enable the parts to be ordered in time and in the correct quantities.
  • Ensure that goods received from suppliers correspond to those ordered and agreed with suppliers (correct parts, correct quantities, correct version status, correct labelling, and correct packaging).
  • Escalate any supplier / subcontractor issues to the Cell leader/ Supply Chain department as required.
  • Support and maintain storage systems for parts required.
  • Set up and maintain suitable tooling and production equipment for the production of Panels & Boxes
  • Manage the production of collection and labelling of parts to satisfy all Customer Spares Orders.
  • Operate the Company's ERP (Winman and Fred) system to establish work plans, print out Parts Lists, Manufacturing Orders, and Shipping Lists etc as required.
  • Escalate any production issues to the Production cell Leader or Production Manager as required.
  • Maintain the workplace with a high degree of tidiness and cleanliness using 6S disciplines.
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the business, including cover in other production department cells.
  • Hands on analogue/HV/power electronic experience.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Understand the engineering change procedure and version numbers.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage varying workloads, ability to communicate effectively across all departments and all levels.
  • Must be a good communicator and team player, that can also take on other responsibilities or tasks whenever reasonably instructed.
  • Experience of working towards tight deadlines.
  • Computer literate, bar code scanning exp.
  • Possess a record of problem solving and achieving tangible improvements to processes and products.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in root cause analysis preferred.
  • Experience in a high voltage generator industry or similar preferred but not essential.

  • Hours: 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Start date: ASAP
