Job Description
We are a growing recruitment business looking for a confident and proactive Business Development Researcher to join us on a temporary ongoing contract.

- Location: Darlington/ Office-Based
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm / Friday 8am-4pm
- Sector: Recruitment
This is an outbound, phone-based role focused on fact-finding, market intelligence, and building a strong pipeline of prospective clients for our senior team to develop.
About the Role:You will be responsible for calling businesses across our target sectors to:
- Introduce our recruitment services
- Identify whether they currently use a recruitment agency
- Establish which agency they use
- Confirm if they are under contract
- Find out when that contract is due for renewal
- Gather accurate contact and decision-maker details
- Build and maintain a structured prospect list for follow-up
Your work will directly support our business development strategy and help create future sales opportunities.
About you:- Confident and professional telephone manner
- Clear, engaging voice with strong communication skills
- Comfortable making outbound cold calls
- Naturally inquisitive and good at asking the right questions
- Resilient and positive attitude
- Organised and able to record information accurately
- Previous sales, telesales, recruitment, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
This role would suit someone early in their sales or recruitment career who wants to gain strong commercial experience in a supportive environment.
