Interim Financial Consultant (Outside IR35) - 3 months - Abingdon with hybrid working (1-2 days per week)
We are working on behalf of a leading organisation in its sector to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Consultant on an initial 3-month contract. This assignment is offered on a day-rate basis and will support the business through a critical reporting and technical accounting period.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise under IFRS, with particular emphasis on year-end statutory reporting and complex accounting areas, including acquisition accounting.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the IFRS conversion for a subsidiary transitioning from FRS 101 to full IFRS, delivering robust journals, detailed reconciliations, and clear technical papers that articulate key judgements and rationale
Manage IFRS 3 business combination accounting for a recent acquisition, including goodwill calculation, asset and liability identification, purchase price allocation methodology, and preparation of a comprehensive, audit-ready technical memorandum
Oversee IFRS 2 share-based payment accounting, including review and challenge of valuation models, technical interpretation of complex arrangements, and enhancement of related disclosures.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience operating within a complex organisation. You will have a strong track record in IFRS technical reporting, including acquisition accounting under IFRS 3 (ESSENTIAL), and ideally have had exposure to Convertible Loan Notes and Share-Based Payments. Prior experience delivering statutory accounts in a time-sensitive environment is essential.
This role would suit a technically strong, detail-oriented professional who can operate autonomously, provide clear technical judgement and deliver to tight deadlines.
