NQ-4 PQE Military Solicitor - Cardiff

Competitive salary depending on experience

A top 100 national law firm has a fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor (NQ-4 PQE) to join their specialist Military Claims team in Cardiff. This is a rare chance to build a meaningful career within a highly respected department that supports service personnel and their families when they have suffered avoidable illness or injury during military service.

The Role

You'll join a busy, well established claimant litigation team handling a varied caseload of military related personal injury matters. The work is sensitive, complex and genuinely impactful.

Your caseload will include:

  • Military injury claims, including clinical negligence and industrial disease
  • Carcinogenic exposure cases linked to military service
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and reviewing medical evidence
  • Preparing schedules of loss and instructing relevant experts
  • Advising clients on complex and often sensitive issues
  • Liaising with Counsel and attending conferences
  • Managing claims from initial enquiry through to settlement
  • Supporting wider PI and clinical negligence teams where needed
  • Supervising junior fee earners (depending on experience)
Candidate Requirements

The team is looking for someone who brings both technical ability and the right personal qualities. You will ideally have:

  • NQ-4 PQE with experience in personal injury, clinical negligence or related litigation
  • Confidence managing your own caseload and working to deadlines
  • Excellent client care skills and the ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, ambitious and self motivated approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
