General Manager (Taproom) at Gravity Well Brewing

Gravity Well Taproom is hiring! Our little bar in Leyton is looking for someone to push forward with our expanded offering. Having recently added a small kitchen and function room to the existing setup, the role of General Manager has evolved to include a substantial events management element.

The new General Manager will have full responsibility for all aspects of the venue, from staff management through to draught line maintenance as well as curating and overseeing a schedule of events in the function room. Due to the nature of our space, this position will necessarily include a significant customer serving role alongside the management duties.

Our taproom has grown considerably over the past five years and, having secured another six years on our lease, we're really excited about our future prospects.

• Implementing a schedule of events for our function room and managing customer bookings
• Staff scheduling, management and training
• Stock control and ordering
• Draught line maintenance and ensuring our beers are served at their absolute freshest
• Full responsibility for cleanliness and presentation of the venue
• Maintaining our status as a friendly social hub and ensuring customers continue to have the highest quality experience

• Significant experience in a hospitality managerial role, ideally within the craft beer scene but not essential
• Ability to work independently whilst seeking input from other team members and the company directors where appropriate
• Strong people skills to manage relationships with customers and staffExperience organising and marketing events
• Digital proficiency in terms of managing cloud-based staff rota, social media interactions etc
• Technical understanding of draught systems
• Willingness to undertake shift work including evenings and weekends

• £38,000 starting salary + performance bonus. 40 hours per week
