SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER - SIGNAGE BERKSHIRE / GREATER LONDON

Hours of work: Monday - Friday / 8:30am - 5pm
The post holder is responsible for the design and creation of 2D and 3D technical manufacturing data including models and drawings, completing projects on-time, within the project budget, performing to high standards of quality, whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement within the design department.
Responsibilities / Requirements:
- Skills in one of more of the following Software; Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 2D, Advance Steel, Solid Works, Tekla
- Previous experience working on architectural metalwork and fabrication designs.
- Responsible for the detailed design of products in-line with project brief.
- Creation of technical drawings including; manufacturing drawings, client approval drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings.
- Management of project CAD files within the server.
- Creation and control of Bill of Materials (BOM's), drawing registers, and project folders.
- Follow document control requirements within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure design is developed within the budgeted design period and allowance.
- Report the progress of design tasks to management, flagging any risks to completing tasks; on time, on budget, and to an acceptable quality.
- Resolve all design challenges in a proactive manner, including those related to client brief, manufacture, install, procurement, quality, cost and time.
- Coordinate design with all departments to ensure designs are manufacturable, transportable, installable and maintainable.
- To liaise with internal production to ensure the smooth running of the design and manufacturing process.
- Provide support and guidance to Junior CAD Engineers
- Adopt good open communication via appropriate routes.
- Create good relations, trust, and teamwork with all departments.
- Monitor project milestones, ensuring design target dates are met.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of existing design and quality systems.
- Maintain a high standard and quality of work.
- Deliver tasks On-Time, On-Budget, to an acceptable quality.
- Develop good working relationships within the company and all employees to understand and support project and departmental requirements.
