This role is responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment on site, ensuring safe and efficient completion of various tasks including excavation and lifting.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment to carry out construction tasks.
Pre Operation Checks: Conduct daily inspections and maintenance checks on machinery to ensure proper functioning, including fluid levels, brakes, and safety features.
Site Preparation: Prepare the construction site by clearing and grading land, digging trenches, and moving materials as directed by Site Manager.
Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials using machinery, ensuring they are moved to designated areas correctly and safely.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, participating in safety meetings and training as required.
Collaboration: Work closely with Site Manager, On Site team and other operators to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met.
Problem Solving: Identify and report any machinery malfunctions or issues to the Site Manager, assisting in troubleshooting and repairs when needed. Be able to give solutions to issues that arise in your line of work.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machinery performance, maintenance tasks, risk assessments and any incidents that occur on-site.
Environmental Awareness: Have awareness of and comply with environmental regulations and practices while operating machinery, minimising impact on surrounding areas.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on new equipment, technologies, and best practices in machine operation and safety protocols.
Other Activities: carry out any other similar task assigned by the Site Manager, Project Manager or Head of Programmes and be willing to help the team with any task at hand
