Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Doncaster

Pay: £14-£15 per hour

Role

As an LSA, you will support students aged 16-25 with a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, or learning difficulties. You'll work closely with pupils 1:1 or in small groups, helping them access the curriculum, manage behaviour, and build confidence. This role is ideal for calm, patient, and proactive individuals who can form strong, trusting relationships with students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 or small-group support

  • Assist students with SEND, SEMH, or other additional learning needs

  • Support class teachers with lesson delivery and differentiation

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Encourage academic, social, and emotional development

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Collaborate with SEND teams, pastoral staff, and parents as needed

College
  • Supportive leadership and experienced SEND teams

  • Strong focus on student wellbeing and inclusion

  • Well-resourced classrooms and specialist provisions

  • On-site parking

Candidate
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs (essential)

  • Calm, patient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to inclusion

  • Understanding of safeguarding and education policies
