Job Role of the Warehouse Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join a busy and well-structured distribution operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive performance, maintain high standards of safety and accuracy, and motivate a team to consistently achieve operational targets.

You will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives to ensure accurate, safe and timely handling of products, delivering the correct product, quantity and quality to customers on time. This is a key position within the operation, supporting productivity, compliance and continuous improvement.

Sector Warehouse & Distribution

Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Team Leader

  • Lead and supervise warehouse operatives to achieve productivity and accuracy targets
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
  • Conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings where required
  • Ensure correct product presentation and dispatch accuracy
  • Induct, train and support new and agency staff
  • Monitor attendance, productivity and KPI performance
  • Communicate operational updates and escalate issues appropriately
  • Safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and problem resolution

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Warehouse Team Leader

  • Previous warehouse leadership experience within a fast-paced environment

Desirable Requirements

  • FMCG experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
