1:1 Teaching Assistant

Our client, a highly respected educational institution in Taunton, Somerset, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a Full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a single student, tailoring your approach to their unique learning needs and preferences. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting the student with academic tasks, reinforcing key concepts, and helping them to develop essential study skills. You will collaborate closely with the student's teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive support system.

Salary for this position is in the range of £450.00 - £525.00 per week, reflecting the importance and demands of the role. Our client is committed to providing a competitive compensation package that recognises the value of your expertise and dedication.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting the academic and personal growth of young individuals. Experience working with students with special educational needs or learning difficulties would be highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities and duties of the Full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant include:

• Providing individualised academic support and guidance to a designated student
• Reinforcing and explaining lesson content to facilitate the student's understanding
• Assisting the student with homework, project work, and other academic tasks
• Developing and implementing effective learning strategies and interventions
• Monitoring the student's progress and adapting support as needed
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation related to the student's learning and development
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support system
• Promoting the student's independence and self-confidence in the learning process
• Attending training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills

To be considered for this rewarding role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:

• Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Education or a related field
• Proven experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of the UK education system and curriculum
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and development
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check and provide references
