Location: North of England (Field-Based)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially driven Sales Engineer to cover the North of England, managing and developing accounts across manufacturing, precision engineering, and subcontract machining environments.

This role is ideal for a technically competent individual with previous CNC programming experience who has transitioned into sales - or someone ready to step into a commercially focused engineering role.


The Role
  • Develop new business opportunities across the Northern territory

  • Manage and grow existing key accounts within the machining and manufacturing sector

  • Provide technical consultation on CNC machinery, tooling, and machining solutions

  • Interpret customer drawings and advise on machining strategies and process optimisation

  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations

  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and negotiate commercial agreements

  • Work closely with internal technical and service teams to ensure smooth project delivery

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasting


Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous CNC programming experience (Milling or Turning)

  • Proven sales experience within CNC machinery, cutting tools, or the wider tooling industry

  • Strong technical understanding of machining processes and production environments

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience selling capital equipment or high-value technical solutions

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software

  • Background in precision engineering or subcontract machining


The Candidate
  • Technically credible and confident engaging with shop floor engineers and senior management

  • Target-driven and commercially motivated

  • Strong communicator with consultative selling capability

  • Organised, self-sufficient, and able to manage a regional territory effectively
