Job Description

The Associate Director of Human Resources plays a key role in supporting the YMCA's mission by administering personnel policies, overseeing recruitment and onboarding, managing confidential staff records, and ensuring compliance with YMCA policies, state and federal regulations, and all legal requirements. This position supports the full scope of Human Resources including Risk Management.

This position plays a key role in Human Resources helping to build a safe, inclusive, and positive workplace culture where staff are supported and empowered to succeed. The Associate Director models exceptional member service, recognizing that service excellence is essential in every YMCA role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • HR certification (PHR preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience; non-profit or YMCA experience a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Must obtain BLS, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications within first 30 days of employment and be able to perform procedures in accordance with required trainings (training will be provided on-site)
