About the Role

They are seeking a skilled Bench Hand Joiner to join the workshop team. This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced craftsperson who takes pride in producing high-quality bespoke joinery and cabinetry.

You will be responsible for manufacturing items from detailed technical drawings, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and the highest standards of finish. This is a role for someone who understands traditional joinery principles but is equally comfortable working within modern production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture bespoke joinery items including cabinets, counters, displays, and specialist furniture
  • Work from technical drawings and cutting lists with precision
  • Assemble, glue, clamp and finish components to specification
  • Operate workshop machinery safely (e.g. panel saws, spindle moulders, edge banders, CNC where required)
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the build process
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace
  • Work to production schedules and meet agreed deadlines
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and other departments

About You

  • Proven experience as a Bench Hand Joiner (minimum 3-5 years preferred)
  • Strong understanding of traditional and modern joinery techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings
  • Experience working with solid timber, veneers, laminates and sheet materials
  • Confident operating woodworking machinery
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent) desirable
