Quantity Surveyor Canterbury (Social Housing / Retrofit) Location: Canterbury, Kent Hybrid (2-3 days on site) Salary: £50,000 £55,000 Project Value: £2.2m per year About the Role: A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a high-profile social housing retrofit programme covering 600 properties in Canterbury. The project has a strong focus on SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) initiatives. You will undertake standard QS duties, including measuring up, preparing and agreeing variations, managing CVRs, and maintaining accurate cost control. This is a client-facing role, so excellent communication skills are essential. Key Responsibilities: Measure up and prepare accurate valuations for works. Manage variations and change orders, ensuring all documentation is correct. Prepare and review Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs). Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and project teams. Ensure cost control and reporting throughout the programme. Skills and Experience: 3-4 years Quantity Surveying experience, ideally in social housing or retrofit projects. Experience with SHDF or similar social housing decarbonisation schemes is desirable. Strong understanding of cost control, valuations, and variations. Confident client-facing skills with excellent communication and organisational ability. Competent in relevant software (Excel, MS Office, and QS systems).
