Brellis Recruitment
Commercial Manager
Brellis Recruitment Horspath, Oxfordshire
Commercial Manager / Managing Director Oxfordshire (office based) Salary: Open, plus bonuses, plus eventual ownership This is not a role for a career accountant, analyst or cost-cutter, and it's not a retail, hospitality or warehouse operations role either. We're looking for someone with genuine drive and ambition, who wants to build something rather than simply manage figures, comfortable working outside the norms and bringing real energy to a small, ambitious business. Our client is a CQC rated Outstanding home care agency based in Oxfordshire, providing domiciliary and live-in care across the county and surrounding areas. They were one of the first agencies in the county to achieve Outstanding across all five CQC categories, a distinction held by only a small percentage of care providers nationally, and have recently been recognised with industry awards for the standard of care they provide. With a strong and growing team already in place, they're now looking for a Commercial Manager / Managing Director to take ownership of driving the business forward commercially. This is a rare opportunity to step into a business with a genuinely strong reputation and real headroom for growth, and to shape how it develops over the next phase. The role This is a commercially led leadership role, not a care delivery role. You'll take full ownership of the growth strategy and the figures, working closely with the owners to take on the day to day running of the business. Driving marketing and business development activity: website, SEO, Google Ads, literature and referral channels Working with existing marketing and content suppliers to build on momentum already in place Full P&L ownership, understanding where the money comes from and where it goes, and making the figures work Leading and managing the team and the wider care workforce Applying sound, common sense management to the day to day issues that come with running a growing service You'll be focused on running and growing the business rather than delivering or managing care on the ground. A very competent team is already in place to do that. About you Above all, we're looking for that rare quality: spark. Someone genuinely different, driven and ambitious, who wants more from their career than a job that starts and ends at the office door. Not a box ticker, and not someone purely analytical who's comfortable managing figures and little else, we want someone hungry to build, grow and make their mark. A finance, accounting or strong commercial background is genuinely useful here, understanding the numbers matters, but the mindset is what's important. We'd equally welcome someone from a marketing or broader commercial background who has that same appetite for growth. You do not need any background in the care sector, in fact we'd prefer it, we want someone who brings fresh thinking rather than preconceived ideas about how a care business should run. If you're looking for a genuine opportunity to lead and grow an already outstanding business, and be rewarded with bonuses and eventual ownership on top of your salary, we'd love to hear from you. People Partner (FTC)
TrustedHousesitters Ltd.
Here at TrustedHousesitters, we're on a mission to make travel work better for pets, for their people, and for the global community of animal lovers who look after them. We've got big plans on becoming the world's most-loved travel solution for pet people. We've built something pretty special: a trusted place where pet owners and sitters connect to keep pets happy at home while their humans explore the world. We've already grown into a global community with members in over 140 countries, a product people genuinely love, and a team of more than 100 brilliant humans powering it all. But we're only just getting started. Our goal? To grow to 1 million members and make TrustedHousesitters the world's most-loved travel solution for pet people. At the moment, a sit starts every two minutes somewhere on the planet. We want that to be every single minute and we know the only way we'll get there is with the right people in the right roles. The right people in the right roles will shape our future. So, here's the big question: Could that be you? £60,000 - £65,000 a year The Role We're looking for a proactive, pragmatic People Partner to join us on a fixed-term basis at a pivotal part of our scaling journey. Working closely with the Senior People Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the HRBP model deeper into a fully-remote scale-up. You'll strengthen line manager capability, while partnering with the wider team to embed our capability frameworks as we move to a High Performance model. You'll also pick up ER casework as and when required, providing practical support to line managers and employees. Reporting to the Senior People Partner, you'll be a trusted point of contact across the business while getting stuck into the initiatives that shape how we work. This is a great opportunity for a People Partner who's ready to bring strong partnering skills that drive immediate positive outcomes. In pursuit of this you will ideally draw upon a blend of established and newer HRBP practice, to a purpose-led, fully-remote scale-up. What you'll be doing People Partnering & Projects: Work alongside the Senior People Partner to fully embed the HRBP (People Partnering) model across our functions in a fully-remote, scale-up environment. Build on our existing frameworks, leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of line manager training, building manager capability and confidence across a fully-remote team. Support the development and roll out of capability frameworks (including feedback models, ways of working & role capabilities) as we move towards a High Performance model. Partner with the Senior People Partner and other key stakeholders on people initiatives that improve organisational health, performance and manager capability. Support the delivery of people programmes such as the performance cycle and engagement initiatives, and contribute to DEI, culture and wellbeing initiatives as they come up across the business. ER Advisory: Pick up ER casework as and when required, providing timely, pragmatic support to managers and employees through investigation processes and outcomes. Support managers through disciplinary and grievance processes as they arise. Provide guidance on day to day employee matters such as flexible working requests and reasonable adjustments. Policy & Process: Stay on top of employment law changes, helping ensure our processes, templates and contracts remain compliant and up to date. Reporting & Administration: Support People Operations with creation of reporting dashboards for our People Metrics Support with core HR admin, such as outcome letters following formal processes Collaboration: Work closely with the People Operations and People Experience teams to share People insights, support cross-functional projects and promote best practice Offer support to ESG Lead on People & Governance requirements of B-Corp renewal What we're looking for: Experience in a People Partner or HRBP role, ideally within a fully-remote, fast-paced scale up. Understanding and hands on experience of embedding the HRBP model within a People Function, ideally within a start up or scale up environment. Comfortable leading or supporting on disciplinary and grievance investigations. Solid knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy and best practice. Confident advising and building relationships with managers and employees at all levels. A genuine interest in connecting people initiatives to wider business goals, with a naturally curious, solutions focused mindset - particularly around manager capability and High Performance. Highly organised and detail oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to balance pragmatism with empathy and a strong sense of fairness. Experience working in a fully-remote environment, ideally within a scale up moving towards a High Performance culture. CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualified (or equivalent hands on experience). Experience using HRIS platforms (we use Humaans) and Google Workspace is a plus. You'll feel like a fish out of water if: We know this isn't what you'd see in most job ads - but TrustedHousesitters isn't most companies. Trust, transparency, and honest feedback aren't just things we say; they're genuinely how we operate, every day. Full time
Here at TrustedHousesitters, we're on a mission to make travel work better for pets, for their people, and for the global community of animal lovers who look after them. So rather than leaving you guessing if things don't work out, we'd rather give you what you need to make a great decision upfront about whether this opportunity is right for you.
