An established specialist SEND provision in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Deputy Headteacher to join on an initial 12-week interim basis, with the potential to move to a permanent appointment thereafter.
This is a key leadership role focused on strengthening operational consistency, supporting staff, and ensuring high standards across safeguarding, behaviour and quality of education.
The Role: Provide visible, calm leadership across the provision Support and develop middle leaders and teaching staff Strengthen safeguarding, compliance and operational systems Drive consistency in behaviour and expectations Contribute to quality assurance and school improvement planning Work closely with the Headteacher to embed sustainable systems This is a largely non-teaching leadership role, with flexibility depending on experience.
The Ideal Candidate: QTS essential Senior leadership experience within SEND / SEMH / alternative provision Strong safeguarding and compliance knowledge Confident operational leader who can embed structure and consistency Able to build credibility quickly with staff, pupils and families
