Salary: WA Leadership Scale, Spine Point Range 12 - 16, £78,847 - £86,107

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Westminster Academy has a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional Assistant Vice Principal to work with the Principal and Vice Principals supporting the strategic leadership of the Academy by providing effective leadership and management for a designated area of the Academy's work. Your primary mission is to ensure that the quality of education across the school is consistently high. You will lead the development of our teaching staff, oversee the curriculum implementation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The focus for this role will be in supporting teaching and learning. You will also be responsible for the curriculum and student progress in one year group. In addition, to lead a specific strand of the Academy Development Plan.

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A deep understanding of teaching and learning, researched based pedagogical approaches, Cognitive Load Theory, and formative assessment.
  • A proven track record of improving outcomes in your own classroom and your current department/team.
  • A "cool head, warm heart" approach to the daily challenges of school leadership.
  • The ability to hold difficult conversations with kindness and clarity.
