The Role
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients with undifferentiated and urgent conditions

  • Manage minor illness and acute presentations independently

  • Take comprehensive patient histories and perform advanced clinical assessments

  • Request and interpret diagnostics (pathology, imaging, ECGs) within scope of practice

  • Prescribe medications as an Independent Prescriber (where qualified)

  • Safely escalate and refer patients to GPs, specialty teams, or Emergency Departments as needed

  • Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to clinical governance standards

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical support to colleagues

The Person
  • Registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC, or GMC)

  • Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or two Level 7 qualifications

  • Independent Prescriber (V300) or equivalent

  • Strong background in urgent care, emergency care, or primary care

  • Confident managing undifferentiated patients autonomously

  • Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and professional development

  • ALS / ILS certification (desirable)

  • Experience in UTC or ED settings (desirable)

  • Familiar with local referral pathways and integrated care systems (desirable)
