Specialist Teaching Learning Assistant
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire (PE11)
Pay: 100 - 120 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 15:30
Contract: Full-time, long term to permanent
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting a Specialist Teaching Learning Assistant (STLA) for a newly formed specialist school located in Spalding. The school supports children and young people aged 2 to 19 with autism and associated needs.
With small class sizes and high staffing levels, the school provides a structured day that supports both learning and personal development. The curriculum is highly personalised and includes a strong focus on communication, emotional wellbeing, practical life skills and therapeutic support.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups throughout the school day
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive routines
  • Encouraging engagement in learning activities and supporting progress
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Recording progress, wellbeing and key observations in line with school systems
  • Supporting with personal care where required


What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or Autism
  • A calm, patient and flexible approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 TA, CACHE or similar) are welcome but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update System, 2x references and a Right to Work in the UK.


About You

  • Candidate must be fully compliant; this includes a DBS on the update system, and 2x references.
  • Experience working in SEN, alternative provision, PRUs, or youth support settings
  • Skilled in positive behaviour management with strong emotional resilience
  • A Maths or Sport background is an advantage
  • Calm, compassionate, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team
