The Role and About You
As a Night Shift Train Cleaner, you will play a vital role in preparing trains for service ahead of the morning rush. Working within a busy depot environment, you will be responsible for ensuring trains meet high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety before they return to operation. Your duties will include exterior cleaning of train carriages, removing graffiti and dirt by using specialist cleaning solutions and equipment.

This is a safety-critical role where reliability, attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential. You will need to be comfortable working nights in a fast-paced operational environment and be able to follow strict safety procedures at all times. Full training and safety briefings will be provided from day one to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role.

The shift pattern runs Monday to Saturday from 22:30pm to 05:30am and Sunday from 22:00pm to 06:00am, averaging around 35 hours per week. Overtime is available, including rest days and Sundays at enhanced rates. There may be periods of up to 13 consecutive working days followed by extended rest breaks, allowing you to maximise both earnings and time off. Flexibility to support additional shifts when required will be advantageous.

The Company
You will be working within one of the UK s most established and respected train operating companies, responsible for delivering services across London and the South East. The organisation plays a critical role in the national transport network, moving millions of passengers each year and investing heavily in modern fleets, sustainability initiatives and the development of its workforce.

This is a stable and forward-thinking employer that values its people and offers genuine opportunities for progression within the rail sector. Many contractors successfully transition into permanent roles, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term career prospects in a growing and essential industry.
