Job Description

The Royal British Legion provides life-changing support to our Armed Forces community which includes those who have served, those still serving, and their families. At times of crisis and need we offer them vital advice, assistance and funding.

We are looking for an Independent Living Advisor, Northern Ireland to provide specialist, person centred and holistic advice, guidance, advocacy, and support to people living with a long-term illness or disability or caring for someone with these conditions in Northern Ireland.

As an Independent Living Advisor, you will empower individuals facing challenges with daily living, mobility, or self-care, as well as their carers, by providing tailored advice and support. You'll conduct holistic assessments, working with health and social care professionals, to guide individuals on accessing support services, funding, and resources.

You'll manage a varied caseload, addressing care needs, grants, adaptations, and funding options, delivering advice through phone, email, meetings, and home visits. By coordinating with other RBL services, you'll ensure a fully integrated, person-centred approach that helps individuals regain control over their lives.

This role is working 30 hours per week (35 hours FTE), days and hours of work to be agreed. For the successful candidate, an Access NI check will be required to be undertaken as part of pre employment checks.

You will be contracted to your home address. You will be expected to work both there and on a mobile basis at other locations in the Northern Ireland area, with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings) beyond this area. Due to the nature of this role, you must be geographically located in Northern Ireland.
