Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Leisure Centre Manager to lead the operation and ongoing development of their inclusive, community-focused leisure facility.

Our client is a national charity supporting people with spinal cord injuries to live full, independent lives. Their Leisure Centre plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, accessible leisure services and is also a key contributor to their financial sustainability through strong performance, income generation, and customer growth.

About the role

As Leisure Centre Manager, you will have full responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the centre.

You will lead the development and delivery of a robust business plan, with clear accountability for income generation, budget management, and profitable outcomes, alongside the highest standards of safety, inclusion, and customer experience.

Working closely with internal colleagues and external partners, you will actively identify opportunities to increase participation, grow memberships, maximise utilisation, and develop new income streams, ensuring the centre continues to evolve as both a community asset and a financially sustainable operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring a balance of commercial insight, people leadership, and operational excellence.

About you

You will bring:
  • Proven management experience within the leisure industry or a comparable customer-focused environment
  • A strong track record of delivering commercial or profitable outcomes, including income growth, cost control, or improved financial performance
  • Confidence in business planning, budgeting, and financial accountability
  • The ability to use insight, data, and local opportunity to drive marketing activity, customer engagement, and revenue growth
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a people-centred and performance-focused approach
  • A proactive mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion and accessible leisure services
Salary & benefits
  • Salary up to £42,400 per annum (depending on experience)
  • 8% employer pension contribution
  • Life Assurance (3 x salary)
  • Free Aspire Leisure Centre membership
Location: Stanmore
Hours: 35 hours per week (including some shift work)

To apply, please submit your CV and a supporting statement outlining how you meet the person specification.

The role is available from March 2026. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, so they encourage early applications.
