About The Role

We're looking for a part-time Food Service Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team, helping to serve up high-quality meals and beverages across our Restaurant, Coffee Shop, Events Centre, and pop-up catering outlets. From everyday service to special events, you'll be at the heart of providing a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every visitor.

The Arboretum is the UK's dedicated year-round centre of Remembrance and is part of the Royal British Legion. At its core, the Royal British Legion is a people-focused organisation. In this part-time role, you'll get hands on with food preparation, presentation, and service, ensuring every dish and drink meets our high standards. You'll also help maintain cleanliness, keep storage areas organised, and contribute to the smooth running of all our catering spaces. Whether you're serving in our 380 cover restaurant, assisting at a large event, or supporting a pop-up outlet, no two days will be the same, and your work will make a real difference to our visitors' experience.

We're looking for someone with a friendly and flexible approach, ready to work across different areas and shifts, including evenings and weekends. Experience in a similar role is essential, along with a good awareness of health and safety and an understanding of stock and supply control. Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys engaging with people, takes pride in your work, and wants to contribute to our mission of creating memorable food experiences for all who visit the Arboretum.

Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum, Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR. The hours are 30 hours per week with working any 5 from 7, flexibility for this role is key.

About the National Memorial Arboretum
The Arboretum is the UK's leading year-round centre of Remembrance and a proud part of the Royal British Legion. Spread across 150 acres, it is home to more than 350 memorials, including the nationally significant Armed Forces Memorial, paying tribute to the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. The site is also filled with around 30,000 maturing trees and a wealth of wildlife, making it a beautiful and peaceful place to reflect. Each year, the Arboretum attracts around 300,000 visitors, many of whom attend over 200 events held throughout the year.
