Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives

If you're making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.

In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government's targeted retention incentive (formerly "levelling-up premium") payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.

About the Role

Role Responsibilities

• Lead on the delivery of Health T level programmes, ensuring curriculum relevance, industry alignment, and excellent learning experiences.
• Provide strong academic and pastoral support to students, including those with EHCPs or ALS needs, and actively support progression to higher education or employment.
• Embrace and implement digital learning technologies to enhance teaching, assessment, and student engagement, while sharing best practices across the team.
• Monitor and support student performance, attendance, and behaviour; contribute to interviews, inductions, parental engagement, and safeguarding procedures.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, including curriculum reviews, assessment preparation, and compliance with awarding body and college standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to manage course documentation, maintain accurate records on college platforms (e.g. SharePoint), and contribute to a culture of celebration and excellence.

Qualifications

• Appropriate degree or equivalent/relevant vocational qualification or commitment to work towards.
• Teacher qualification or commitment to work towards
• Assessor Awards or commitment to work towards within first year
• Level 2 English and maths qualification
• Successful experience of delivering high quality provision in FE or your health related field
• Evidence of collecting and acting upon data analysis
• Experience of implementing a range of delivery methods to suit a variety of learning needs.
• Appropriate industry relevant experience
