Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator - Tipton

Days, Monday to Friday. £30,000 - £35,000 (dependant on experience). Permanent Opportunity. Due to continued growth and expansion, our prestigious client is currently looking a Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This is both a fantastic and rare opportunity for someone to join a growing business during a period of continued growth.

Role Overview: Our client is currently seeking a Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator to join their small, growing team on a permanent basis. This successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can build long lasting relationships with customers and suppliers whilst being able to coordinate the company's logistics operation.

  • Book domestic and international shipments.
  • Prepare customs documents and track freight movements.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff for picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Ensure on-time delivery for B2B and e-commerce orders.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and update ERP (e.g., Unleashed).
  • Conduct stock reconciliations with warehouse teams.
  • Manage batch, expiry, and traceability data.
  • Monitor reorder points and drive purchasing decisions.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders.
  • Track supplier lead times and confirm product specifications.
  • Source and vet new suppliers (materials, packaging, manufacturers).
  • Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and payment terms.
  • Understand the components of COGS (raw materials, packaging, freight, duties).
  • Ensure purchasing aligns with budget and cashflow availability.
  • Track landed costs and highlight margin risks.
  • Analyse sales trends and coordinate stock forecasting.
  • Identify future shortfalls or excess stock and adjust purchasing accordingly.
  • Plan to purchase around lead times, cashflow, and product launch cycles.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a Purchasing/Procurement or Logistics background is essential.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working within an FMCG background.
  • Must be a strong communicator who can build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be highly organised and able to plan and prioritise own workload.
  • Must have a proactive and solutions driven mindset.
  • Confident using ERP systems, spreadsheets and operational workflow systems.
