Job Title: Pastoral, Health & Welfare support Lead

Progress Teachers are working closely with a 'Good Ofsted' rated Primary School Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral, Health & welfare support worker to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students within the unit.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students who may require additional assistance, ensuring their unique learning needs are met.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing student behaviour effectively and fostering a supportive atmosphere.
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and implement effective teaching strategies, adapting to the varied learning styles and abilities of students.
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching materials, ensuring that resources are accessible and conducive to a productive learning environment.
  • Regularly assess and report on student progress, collaborating with teachers to identify areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Support the integration of students with diverse needs into mainstream education settings, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting inclusivity.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN students with challenging behaviour (preferred).
  • Strong ability to engage and motivate students with varied needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sports background
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
  • Experience in supporting students in Maths and English is desirable.
